Reflection
For me, I thought that the performance will be looking like a show with several different scenes to show how music pieces are made and give a clear idea to the audiences why we need music every day. But instead of this, Mike and Dasha give another understanding of how to perform this poem, they chose to have one person on the back and acting he is enjoying and another person in the front to present in words. Usually, when I see or perform a poem like this, I would have the reader to read at somewhere in the corner instead of the center of the stage, but this group did a different job here, they let the reader stand in front of the stage to read her words. This really surprised me, because it shifted the focus from the performance itself to the speech, and she did a great job with the pace of the speech, which also provided strong supports to Mike who is performing on the back, he can know clearly of the mood and moves that he is supposed to show.
I think this is a really great performance and it provides me another idea of how to perform. As I said in the previous paragraph, Dasha did a great job on her speeches, the control of the pace was great, supported the performance a lot. Mike also did a very great job, even though he was not the main focus in this performance, but the moves and body language that he was expressing to the audiences was clear and strong, which made sure that the show was not boring, in fact with the cooperation of both of them on stage, I think they really performed a hard poem really clear to people. A little suggestion I have is that I think Mike should go in front a little bit more, it can show a stronger connection to whether the speeches or to audiences.
